Narinder Singh
Twelve weeks at my mom's hospital bedside taught me there is no substitute for the attention of your care team. So I started LookDeep Health to build AI that can see, hear and talk (and eventually physically help through robotics) to help nurses and doctors observe and care for patients.
Earlier chapters: co-founding Appirio, leading Topcoder and helping start the Sikh Coalition; today I also serve on PAR Technology's board of directors.

Accelerating Your AI Future with the Video Dial Tone — or Slowly Killing It Without One
Essay using the history of telephone-network openness (Carterfone, the dial tone) to argue hospitals should demand open, vendor-independent in-room video infrastructure; announces LookDeep's "Video Dial Tone" commitment that its video hardware stays usable with other software platforms.

Trip Report - China - Robotics, AI and the Future Here
Raw notes from meeting about 10 robotics companies in China: hardware and supply chain are far ahead of the US, while the software on many robots lags; argues for understanding China rather than ignoring it, for an open robotics ecosystem, and that the humanoid form may not win most tasks.
